If you’re using Internet Explorer or Edge as your web browser, this could be the source of the issue. This is because browsers like Internet Explorer or Edge tend to process files from websites by trying to open the document rather than downloading it first.
Check you are using the most up to date version of your web browser in the first instance.
If your browser is up to date, try the following solution:
- On the people detail page, Right click on the download button next to the file name of the CV
- Click on ‘Save as’
- A dialog box will appear asking to save the file.
- The file name extension should be .doc or .docx instead of .html, please change it accordingly as shown per screenshot below
- ‘Save as type’ should be ‘All files’
