There are five simple guidelines which we expect all participants in the Devex community to abide by, all of which directly inform our community moderation approach. These apply across the site.
1: We welcome your opinions. We want our readers to see and understand different points of view. However, personal attacks will not be permitted, and any critique should relate to the article in question. If you would like to suggest a factual correction please do so via our support desk rather than comment.
2: On language: Please be polite and relevant. Do not use swear words or crude language. English is the preferred language and if you choose to write in other languages, please make sure to provide an English translation.
3: We will remove any content that is potentially:
- Offensive, racist, sexist, homophobic, or discriminatory against any religions or other groups.
- Insulting, threatening or abusive.
- Defamatory, false, libellous, or misleading.
- Obscene, or of a sexual nature.
4: We will remove any posts that are obviously commercial, promotional, or otherwise spamlike.
5: While this is a Devex site, the conversation belongs to everybody in the community. We want this to be a welcoming space for intelligent discussion, and participants can help us achieve this by notifying us of potential problems and helping each other to keep conversations inviting and appropriate. If you spot something problematic, please flag it by emailing info@devex.com. Generally, we will not allow comments to be overtaken by discussions of our moderation policies, and we will moderate accordingly.
